Six people were injured after a deck at a Gulf Shores, Ala. beach house collapsed Monday.
The house was being rented by students from Texas Christian University and the University of Texas.
The deck collapsed around 4:30 p.m. Monday, according to Gulf Shores Police. Witnesses say anywhere from 15 to 50 people were on the deck when it collapsed.
WPMI-TV quoted one family who rented the beach house next door as saying "easily 40 people" were on the deck when it gave way.
William Bonner, a TCU student, told WPMI-TV about the scene.
"The support beams gave out, and the whole porch just collapsed," Bonner told WPMI-TV. "People said they couldn't feel their legs. We were worried they might be paralyzed from the waist down."
Six people suffered minor injuries, according to police.
The injured people have not been identified.
